After building up and running a highly successful business for 10 years in Finglas, looking after 400 clients, Emmet Young has now retired after selling his practice to new franchisee Ray Conboy.
“I’ve had a fantastic decade with TaxAssist Accountants and I couldn’t have wished for more from the franchise support team who been hugely effective in helping me to build up a business which I feel very proud of,” said Emmet. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time working in practice and have met many wonderful clients over the years. I am very pleased to have been introduced to Ray who I am sure will continue the success of TaxAssist Finglas.”
Ray is no stranger to the benefits of franchising, having worked for a national retail chain as Commercial Operations Manager for 10 years specialising in mentoring new franchisees and improving their commercial awareness. As part of this role he specialised in management accounting, benchmarking, and asset value growth.
“My route to joining the TaxAssist Family began two years ago while exploring opportunities to become self-employed again,” said Ray, who holds a BA in Accounting and Human Resources and in recent years a Diploma in Financial Accounting & Advanced Taxation.
“Having spoken with Alison McGinley, TaxAssist Accountants Managing Director, and the Irish Support Centre team over the subsequent year, I was impressed with the level of support available. The marketing expertise and the chance to be not only self-employed again but to be an active member of a wider team was really enticing. This unique proposition convinced me to pursue resale opportunities which resulted in my recent acquisition.
“Clients love the TaxAssist brand and accessible walk-in shop model and, with a range of beneficial additional services, we’re a true one-stop-shop for all clients’ needs. I’m looking forward to meeting existing and new clients and would encourage anyone interested in meeting me to pop in for a chat to find out more.”
Alison McGinley said: “It’s been so rewarding to have helped Emmet successfully build up his business and then sell and retire when the time was right and to have introduced Ray as an ambitious new franchisee.
“The TaxAssist network performance has been and continues to be exceptionally strong with growth of 22% sales and 11% clients year on year and Ray knows that our ongoing support and group membership will give him the tools required to maximise the potential of his new practice in Dublin.”
